Rita Dejean

Rita is a certified Yoga therapist from the Asana Andiappan College of Yoga & Research. She has been schooled in the Thirumoolar Ashtanga Yoga and Iyengar Therapeutic techniques. Rita is also a certified Yoga teacher in Multi Style Yoga, as well as an Ayurvedic masseuse.
Rita’s Yogic journey began during her 1st pregnancy. Originally from France she found a home in India 24 years ago. She started her Yoga practice in the Sivananda style, then moved on to other styles of Yoga including Hatha, Vinyasa Flow, Ashthanga, and Iyengar. She attended the Vivekananda Yoga University (VYASA/VYOMA) and Research Centre where she obtained her first certification. Fascinated by the tremendous therapeutic benefits that Yoga has to offer, she decided to further her knowledge by exploring the BKS Iyengar therapeutic approach with Brahmacharya Rudra Dev. She continued her exploration with the help of other Iyengar teachers and the Asana Andiappan College. It became increasingly clear to her that when specific holistic Yoga practices are tailored to individual needs, abilities, and goals - regardless of their age or their condition - symptoms that may be causing discomfort, injury, or illness - in mind and body - can either be relieved or treated.
Using these different techniques in her practice, Rita is able to inspire and empower people on their path to better health. She loves sharing her extended knowledge and broad experience to help students channel their energies towards wellness and self discovery.
