About this Project:

A growing body of scientific research is beginning to confirm what yogis have known for millennia – yoga offers a wealth of benefits for everyone and seniors are no exception! Yoga classes for seniors are becoming increasingly popular – seniors are the fastest-growing demographic in yoga!

Mental health issues are common among the elderly aged 60 or above in Hong Kong.  Andiappan Yoga Community has partnered with Social Welfare Department  – Kwai Chung (East) Integrated Family Service Centre to teach tailor-made yoga classes for their needs. Our highly trained yoga teacher volunteers are now teaching gentle poses and breathing techniques that help to address depression and other mental and physical health issues.

Kwai Chung (East) Integrated Family Service Centre provide integrated services with a child-centred, family-focused and community-based approach. Integrated services promote resilience among families and individuals, and facilitate effective ways to prevent and cope with difficulties and challenges.  Andiappan Yoga Community is now partnering with Kwai Chung (East) Integrated Family Service Centre to bring the benefits of yoga to elderly groups.
