I began my yoga journey in 2017 after practicing regularly with my fitness instructor. The first 6 months passed quickly, and I began to realize how positive yoga became in my life. I had more energy, improved my health and developed self-discipline. I knew at this point I had to dedicate myself to the practice of yoga and began searching for yoga study programme. I initially signed-up to learn the Iyengar Yoga at the Iyengar Center while maintaining my course with my original instructor. In 2019 I became pregnant with my soon-to-be daughter and adjusted my practice to Maternity Yoga and the Phase 1 class at the Iyengar Center. Suddenly, in 2020 the world found itself embattled with a global pandemic and shortly thereafter gave birth to my daughter. During this stressful period, I practiced sparingly at home during my postpartum recovery period. During 2021 after I had fully recovered from birth and the pandemic became more manageable, I enrolled in the Anatha 200-hour YTT course and practiced with their Andiappan tutor. I completed the YTT course and earned my certificate in February 2022. I have furthered enrolled in the advanced 300-hour course which I expect to complete by Summer 2022.
